The NFL has made jersey numbers a prized possession.
Particularly if they have wore that number throughout their career, players often identify with the jersey numbers they wear.
Recently, the NFL has relaxed its stance on jersey numbers, allowing the No. 0 to be worn as well.
YaYa Diaby, a rookie for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, will be the first player to wear No. 0 as just confirmed by NFC South writer Greg Auman.

With this new song, Diaby joins seasoned performers like Calvin Ridley, D Andre Swift, and Roquan Smith.
He was selected in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft, and he intends to have an early impact on the Buccaneers team.
Outside linebacker Diaby played for the University of Louisville for the previous three seasons.
The Buccaneers defense was once regarded as one of the league’s top defenses.
The Buccaneers will rely heavily on players like Diaby to contribute as they continue to grow and develop, especially following the departure of Tom Brady.
If all goes according to plan, they might still have a chance to win the NFC South this year despite the organizational changes.
Currently, it is planned for each NFC South team to start a different quarterback in 2023 than they did in 2018.
Although the Tampa Bay job candidate will have their work cut out for them, the current quarterback market is good.
Given their new talent like Diaby, can the Buccaneers find a way to win the division?
