The Tampa Bay Buccaneers‘ time with Tom Brady is finished, and they succeeded in their goal by winning the Super Bowl in just his first season with the team.
Brady has since retired, so they will now move forward with a slightly different group of players, including Baker Mayfield, their gifted but unpredictable new quarterback.

The Cleveland Browns selected Baker Mayfield with the first overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, and it seemed as though a brand-new, prosperous era for the struggling Browns had just begun.
Mayfield led Cleveland to their first playoff victory since 1994 in 2020 and set an NFL record for the most touchdown passes thrown by a rookie.
But aside from that, he was inconsistent, particularly under pressure, and his immature moments contributed to his offseason trade to the Carolina Panthers.
After returning from an ankle injury at midseason, Mayfield was benched. He requested his release and was granted it, which allowed him to continue the season with the Los Angeles Rams in lieu of the ailing Matthew Stafford.
Chris Godwin and Mike Evans, two outstanding wide receivers from Tampa Bay’s 2020 championship squad, will give Mayfield a chance to shine and disprove his detractors.
The NFC South will once again be relatively poor outside of the New Orleans Saints, which might offer the Buccaneers a chance to grab a playoff position.
