TheNew Orleans Pelicanshave some figuring out to do right now.

Off-court controversies aside, they might come to terms with the fact that they cannot trust Zion Williamson to be available.

Moreover, Shams Charania of The Athletic recently reported that they re going after Scoot Henderson in the upcoming NBA Draft, citing that they re exploring multiple avenues to get him on June 23.

Charania states that the Pelicans who currently own the No. 14 pick have had talks with the Charlotte Hornets regarding that No. 2 overall pick, adding that the Hornets might not be willing to give it up for just a couple of first-rounders.

With that in mind, Charania raises the question of whether the Pelicans will have internal discussions about moving Zion.

Charania adds that the Pelicans believe Henderson could be a franchise point guard for them, given that he s an elite scorer, playmaker, and closer and seems to be a can t-miss, NBA-ready kind of talent.

Zion has proven to be a generational talent as well, dominating NBA opposition as if he were playing against high schoolers.

However, he s seldom available and hasn t been able to shake off his countless injury woes, so maybe it s time they actually start considering moving on from him once and for all.

Should that be the case, then the Hornets would have a tough time saying no to an offer involving the former No. 1 pick, as the prospect of having him side-by-side with LaMelo Ball is mouth-watering, even if Ball has also struggled with some injuries of his own.
