TheNBAworld is all set and ready for the draft to begin on Thursday night.
Yet, there are still some major deals that can go down before the picks begin.
One of the most shocking moves just went down involving the Golden State Warriors and Washington Wizards.
The Warriors agreed to trade guard Jordan Poole to the Wizards for Chris Paul.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the deal is agreed upon and this move goes to show the Warriors are in win-now mode.
Deal is agreed on, per sources June 22, 2023
To say the least, this deal is nothing anyone saw coming.
Paul was always expected to leave the Wizards but heading to Golden State for Jordan Poole is shocking.
Some people love the fit of Paul in a backup role with the Warriors.
Perfect for Steph! He can play way more off the ball. Love the fit for Golden State.

This is great for GSW. They add arguably one of the best passing PG s in the game to an already highly efficient offense. I don t think he starts games but I think CP3 closes games on the floor with Steph and Klay.

Even though the Warriors roster got substantially older, Paul may be a better fit.
He is a smart player that can run an offense and distribute the ball very well.
Also, the Warriors wanted to be free of the contract they gave Poole after last season.

With Poole no longer on the books the Warriors can add some more depth.
Also, you have to wonder how the punch from Draymond Green to Poole had an impact on this trade.
The locker room chemistry seemed to take a hit this past year and some moves needed to be made.
Now it appears as if Paul will have some great shooters around him to distribute to.
The Warriors have another championship contending team for next season! Curry and Thompson now can just be spot up shooter s for Paul to facilitate too.
