Earlier this month, theCincinnati Redsmade the move to call up the No. 4 prospect in all of baseball, Elly De La Cruz.
Since being called up, De La Cruz has been every bit as good as advertised in every aspect of the game.
He currently is hitting .315 with three home runs and an OPS of .937.
His speed is one aspect of his game that has impressed many around the game.
Before the Reds embarked on a 12-game winning streak, De La Cruz made a boldclaim, saying that he believed he was the fastest man in the entire world.
Since making that claim, he has made a strong case as to why it s true.
De La Cruz currently has the fastest average sprint speed in all of baseball.
On Twitter, MLB Stats posted a graphic, which shows De La Cruz at the top of an elite list with Bobby Witt Jr., Trea Turner, Jake McCarthy, and Corbin Carroll.
The fastest men alive (or at least in baseball).

De La Cruz s current average sprint speed is 30.8 feet per second.
While there are certainly several contenders for the status of fastest man in the world, De La Cruz has at least proven himself to be one of, if not the fastest man in baseball.
He is certainly a contender for the fastest man in the world status with the way he runs around the bases.
His claim was certainly a bold one, but not foolish.
He has been able to back that claim up quite well since being called up.
