TheKansas City Chiefshave the luxury of featuring the best quarterback in the NFL on their team in Patrick Mahomes.
Having players whose sole focus is winning championships plays a major role on a Super Bowl contender.
In the NFL, the quarterback market is always fluctuating.
Whenever the next star quarterback is up for a payday, that player becomes the highest-paid at the position.
Mahomes signed his massive extension back in 2020.
Since then he has been passed by a plethora of quarterbacks in average annual contract value.
Heading into the 2023 season, Mahomes will be the seventh highest-paid quarterback for that year.
But, that does not seem to bother him.
According to Ari Meirov, Mahomes said he is more focused on winning championships than money.
#Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes was asked about his contract and how so many other QBs have passed him:
“I worry about legacy and winning rings more than money at this moment.”
“I’ve made enough money where I’ll be set for the rest of my life.”

Mahomes also mentioned how he made plenty of money in his first contract and that he is set for life.
The Chiefs will not have to worry about who will be playing quarterback for them.
Mahomes will remain a member of the Chiefs for the rest of his career and he will be among the league s highest-paid players.
The star quarterback is coming off his second MVP award and second Super Bowl win.
You can bet Mahomes will be adding plenty more trophies to his mantle before his career ends.
Mahomes will be entering his age-28 season and opposing teams will be looking to dethrone his Chiefs for years to come.
