Last season, theSan Francisco 49erscame up short, as Kyle Shanahan s squad couldn t get the best of a motivated Philadelphia Eagles team led by rising star Jalen Hurts in the NFC Championship Game.
Although the Eagles dominated the 49ers in that playoff game, the 49ers were extremely shorthanded on the offensive side of the football, with quarterbacks going down one after another.
Rookie phenom Brook Purdy headed into the game healthy and ready to lead this team to Super Bowl after winning every game he played since taking over for the injured Jimmy Garoppolo.
Unfortunately, Purdy went down with an elbow injury before having a chance to make an impact, which ended his season and resulted in the 49ers being unable to compete with a very good Eagles squad.
In 2023, the 49ers have a chance to bounce back with a vengeance and potentially start the season with Purdy under center, and Arik Armstead believes the current squad is the best team he s been a part of heading into the season via Up & Adams Show.
“This is probably the best team I’ve been a part of, from a roster standpoint, going into a season.”
The preseason vibes for @arikarmstead and Co. are immaculate in the Bay.

A lot rides on the hopes that Purdy is ready to go for Week 1 when the 49ers go on the road to start the season against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sept. 10.
If Purdy is healthy and can play at the level he showed last season, San Francisco will be a very good team in 2023 and quite possibly the favorite to come out of the NFC ahead of the Eagles.
All signs point to Purdy being ready for Week 1, but there s still a ways to go, and he still needs to make a bit more progress in his recovery.
