Over the last few years, theLas Vegas Raidershave been trying to become a force to be reckoned with in the AFC but have fallen short primarily due to their deficiencies on the defensive side of the football.

Although the Raiders have one of the most talented defensive players in the league in Maxx Crosby, the team hasn t been able to put it together and follow his lead to be dominant defensively.

With training camp approaching for all 32 teams in the league, the Raiders may not be done in trying to improve their defense, with talk of the storied franchise trying to add at least one more important piece to the puzzle in Las Vegas.

According to Vic Tafur of The Athletic, the Raiders will likely sign veteran cornerback Marcus Peters before the start of camp via Dov Kleiman.

Although Peters isn t the dominant player he once was earlier in his career with the Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Rams, and first year with the Baltimore Ravens, the veteran corner would still be a welcome addition to the team s secondary.

Back in 2015, Peters earned NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year honors and was named an All-Pro four times to go along with three Pro Bowl appearances.

Throughout his NFL career thus far, Peters has recorded 346 tackles, 92 pass deflections, 32 interceptions, 11 forced fumbles, 10 fumble recoveries, seven touchdowns, and 2.0 sacks.

He has an impressive resume, to say the least, and if he s got anything left in the tank, Peters should help the Raiders get to where they want to go defensively in 2023.
