ThePhiladelphia Eagleshave a true speedster in their ranks.

Devon Allen proved again why he drew that much attention last year, shocking the world with another impressive performance on Saturday by being placed second in the 110-meter hurdles at the USATF New York City Grand Prix with a stunning 13.04 seconds.

He was just 0.3 seconds short of first place, although his numbers were still good enough to tie him for the fourth-fastest recorded time on Earth this year.

The two-time Olympian made the Eagle s practice squad last season.

He played college football at the University of Oregon until 2016.

Then, he signed a reserve/future contract with the organization at the end of the 2022 NFL season, and he continues to look forward to having a career in both sports.

His next chance to break his own mark will come at the USATF Outdoor Championships from July 6-9.

A positive outcome there would qualify him for the national team in hopes of racing at the World Athletic Championships, trying to get back on track after a false start disqualified him last year.

The only issue with that is that the competition will take place right in the midst of his team s training camp, meaning he could be in jeopardy of losing his spot on the team, considering he s still just a practice squad member looking to work his way up the depth chart.

This is a great problem to have if you re an athlete, and it seems like he can t go wrong either way.
